3 About us

We rely on our amazing community for resources and to keep our doors open. If you’d like to donate in any capacity, even the smallest amount goes a long way and helps us to continue our programs and feed our Safe Study children. Our biggest need is support with computers, laptops and digital learning tools to create new educational programs.

Safe Study has been operating for 16 months with no funding or financial support.

Nicola Valentine is our Treasurer and Director. Volunteers contribute their time, skills and knowledge to our organization. Victoria Yards management team offers free space for our programs every Saturday and free storage space and also the Victoria Yards community, Nando’s and SA Harvest Food Rescue offers us in-kind contributions of donated clothes and Christmas gifts to our children.

Our strong bonds to local organisations around us have enabled us to use facilities such as Mam’Refilwe’s Urban-City Farm, the Joburg Cricket Club, Tshimangandzo Care Centre, and Sophiatown Community Psychological Services.
